RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The ranking of the wealthiest people in the world, released on April 5 by Forbes magazine, brings the philanthropist and businesswoman Lucia Borges Maggi, 89, as the owner of the largest female fortune in Brazil and the 350th richest person in the world. Co-founder and member of the board of directors of the commodities company Amaggi, she has an estimated fortune of US$6.9 billion.

In the global list, French Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, 68, heiress of L’Oreal, leads with an accumulated fortune of US$74.8 billion. She is considered the 14th richest person on the planet.
