Ministry regulates temporary visa for digital nomads in Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Aiming to stimulate activities of the so-called "digital nomads" in Brazil, the National Immigration Council, of the Ministry of Justice and Public Safety, has regulated the granting of temporary visas and residence permits to immigrants who, without employment ties in the country and using information technology, can work for foreign employers.

The measure, published this Monday (24) in the Official Gazette of the Union, establishes an initial period of residence of one year, which can be renewed for an equal period.
