City in Santa Catarina state records the lowest temperature in Brazil in 2022

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The coldest day of the year for Santa Catarina was also a national record this Sunday (12).

The -6.13°C recorded in Urupema, in the Santa Catarina mountains, was the lowest temperature in Brazil, said Epagri/Ciram, the agency that monitors the weather in the state.

The cold arrived with more intensity in the state on Friday (10), when a polar air mass took the instability away. It stopped raining, but the thermometers plummeted.

This continues on Monday (13).
