Bolsonaro says on Brazil’s most-watched news program that he will respect ‘clean elections’ result

Brazilian President and re-election candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PL, right) said Monday (Aug. 22) that he would respect the outcome of "clean elections" this year. He made this statement in an interview with Jornal Nacional of the Rede Globo television channel.

It is Brazil's most-watched news program. The topic of elections took up about 10 of the 40 minutes of the interview.

"The results of the ballot boxes will be respected as long as the elections are clean and transparent," he said.
