RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil has again recorded over one thousand daily deaths from Covid-19: 1,054 – the highest daily record in three months, since September 15th.

The figure is also related to the fact that the state of São Paulo disclosed on Thursday, December 17th, both Wednesday and Thursday’s accumulated records, after experiencing problems to access the Ministry of Health’s system.

The government of São Paulo failed to disclose this Wednesday’s data and ascribed the issue to a failure in the Ministry of Health’s system, which denies any technical hindrance. With Thursday’s figures, the total number of Covid victims in the country has reached 184,876.

Between Wednesday and Thursday, 68,832 cases were confirmed. A total of 7,111,527 people have been infected.

The rolling daily average of cases is rising by 10%, within the stability range, but nevertheless increasing. On Thursday, there were 46,855 new cases per day, the highest average since the media outlet consortium began releasing data in July.
