A dozen international airlines expect to connect with Venezuela

The president of the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), Juan Manuel Teixeira, informed this Wednesday that “there are many requests” from international airlines that want to connect with Venezuela.

However, they are still under evaluation.

“There are many requests, there are requests that are now being evaluated by the high Government, from nearby countries”, said Teixeira in an interview granted to the local radio station Unión Radio.

He also indicated that currently, “approximately 10 to 12 requests from international airlines that want to connect with Venezuela”.

The highest civil aeronautical authority of the South American nation emphasized that EuroAtlantic Airways will soon have connectivity with Caracas.

He commented that some administrative issues are expected to be solved, but EuroAtlantic will have “flights to Europe, specifically to Portugal”.

The official explained that at an international level, the connectivity network “has been improving” and recalled the reopening of flights between Colombia and Venezuela.

In this context, he commented that there are still procedures to be solved.

“While the critical knots that remain due to the passivity of interconnection between both nations are being untangled, other airlines will be added,” said Teixeira.

He commented that by “critical knots,” he refers to the requirements and authorizations that must be fulfilled after two years without connectivity due to the pandemic.

At the national level, he pointed out that connectivity has been fully normalized, “there are no restrictions of any kind, and the numbers are quite satisfactory”, said Teixeira.

Finally, he added that the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics would participate in the Expo Transporte Internacional Venezuela, to be held next month in the central state of Miranda.

“From December 8 to 11, the Expo Transporte Internacional Venezuela will be held at the Francisco de Miranda Air Base, La Carlota Airport,” he announced and assured that it will be an event that will bring together all sectors: public, private, national, and foreign.

He detailed that the scientific and technological advances in transportation in all modalities, terrestrial, aquatic, and aerial, will be exhibited.
