The Xande de Pilares Salvador night puts him back beside Grupo Revelação, the band he sang with for twenty-three years. Gates open four hours before he does.

Four hours between the gate and the first chord

The Xande de Pilares Salvador show fills Casa de Apostas Arena Fonte Nova, the main stadium of the city. Doors at 16:00, music at 20:00.

Those four hours are the price of a good spot in a standing zone. Everyone else can take their time.

The tour carries the name “Tava Escrito: O Reencontro Histórico”, roughly “It Was Written: The Historic Reunion”. Promoters bill it as a reunion eleven years on.

The arena rates the evening 16 and over. Children between 5 and 15 get in only beside a parent or legal guardian.

The years apart, and the nephew on stage

Xande de Pilares is a Brazilian samba and pagode singer. He sang with Grupo Revelação from 1991 to 2014, then went out on his own.

Grupo Revelação is one of the best known pagode bands in Brazil. The listings site el Cabong says the group built a sound you recognise from the first chords.

Jonathan Alexandre, known as Mamute, joined the band in October 2018. He is Xande’s nephew, and he shares the singing on this tour.

So the family argument, if that is what it was, ends on a stadium stage. Both names stand there together rather than one after the other.

Samba and pagode, in plain words

Samba is the broad family of Brazilian song and rhythm that most visitors already know. It runs from old standards to the carnival parades in Rio de Janeiro.

Pagode grew out of samba as a looser, party-sized version. It started in backyards and bars, uses fewer instruments, and feels more like a conversation.

In practice a pagode show is a singalong. The crowd knows every word, and the chorus comes back at you from all sides.

None of that needs Portuguese. Salvador is busy either way, from AFROPUNK Brasil in November to a Bahia stage show running to 30 October.

Reading the ticket map

Pista is the standing floor. Pista Premium is the standing block nearest the stage, and it is the priciest ticket in the house.

Full-price Pista runs R$210 to R$250 (about US$41 to US$49) across three batches. Pista Premium runs R$390 to R$450 (about US$76 to US$88).

Cadeira means a seat. Cadeira Superior, the upper ring, is the cheapest at R$140 to R$180 full price (about US$27 to US$35).

Cadeira Intermediária and Cadeira Inferior sit lower and climb to R$320 (about US$63). The two Lounge tiers cost R$360 and R$390 (about US$71 and US$76).

A lote is a price batch. Lote 1 sells first and cheapest, and the price steps up each time a batch runs out.

Conversions here use the 13 September 2026 rate of 5.105 reais to the US dollar.

Who gets half price, and who will not

Meia-entrada means half ticket, and Brazilian law hands it to certain groups. The arena publishes its own list for the stadium.

That list names students, people aged 60 and over, people with disabilities plus one companion, low-income young people and school staff. It rests on federal laws 12.933/13 and 10.741/03 and on Bahia state law 14.765/2024.

Every one of those categories has to show an identity document carrying a CPF, Brazil’s taxpayer number. The arena has never published whether a foreign passport can stand in.

So ask before you pay, not at the turnstile. Half-price places for people with disabilities are sold only in the lower ring.

Those applications go through an online form, which the arena reviews within 24 hours. Leave it until the day itself and you will be paying full price.

That is why R$70 (about US$14) is not the real entry price for most visitors. The cheapest full-price seat is R$140 (about US$27).

Getting up the hill to Nazaré

The arena sits on the Ladeira da Fonte das Pedras in Nazaré, beside the Dique do Tororó. That is the old upper city, not the beach strip.

The metro is the simplest way in. Campo da Pólvora station on the red line is about 300 metres away, a five-minute walk.

For buses, the arena points to Nazaré, Campo da Pólvora, Barra and Dique do Tororó as useful references. Transalvador, the city traffic agency, keeps the current timetables.

The nearest official taxi rank is on Avenida Vasco da Gama by the Dique do Tororó. Uber and 99, a Brazilian ride app, both work across Salvador.

Traffic around Nazaré will be slow in both directions. Agree a pickup point well away from the gates before you go in.

Before you go

No sector was marked sold out on the arena’s event page in mid-September. Prices move by batch, though, so the cheap end may already be gone.

Tickets go through Ticketmaster online and over the counter at Pida desks. Those sit in Shopping Paralela, Shopping Piedade and Salvador Shopping.

The arena keeps its own box office at Shopping Ponto 7 in Pituba. It also asks fans to register their faces in advance for the gates.

That registration request does not say which events use it. Sign up anyway and save yourself an argument at the turnstile.

No support act and no guest have been announced for this date. The evening, as billed, belongs to the two names on the poster.
