São Paulo’s Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in Brazil named in Forbes’ list of 20 best world hospitals

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This prestigious position was also recognized by AméricaEconomía in its 2020 ranking of Clinics and Hospitals, in which Israelita Albert Einstein repeated in 1st position for the second consecutive year with a score of 94.37.

This time, the Forbes list ranks it 17th, below the two top-ranked hospitals Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Minnesota) and John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore (Maryland).

The “World’s Best Hospitals” ranking by Forbes highlights the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein for its complex treatments in Cardiology and Neurology, and values its contribution to health development plans in underprivileged areas that have led to improved health indices.

Founded in 1971, the most representative hospital in the region has focused on innovation in different processes from basic sciences, applied sciences, prototype development, software and hardware development, in order to remain the leader in Brazil and Latin America.

The Forbes list also includes the Singapore General Hospital, a magnet for the whole of Southeast Asia; the Swedish Karolinska University Hospital, focused on biomedical research; North-American Cleveland Clinic, with a worldwide reputation in the field of pediatrics; the Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz (the only Spanish hospital), which has also just become the first in the world to receive the EFQM Global Award, the most prestigious international award for excellence in management.

The criteria considered by Forbes for the ranking are based on several factors of excellence, as well as other prestigious international rankings such as Newsweek or Webometrics.

In addition, these criteria are supported by recommendations from the international medical community, patient experience data, and the Berlin Principles (2019) for the assessment of teaching institutions, given the academic and research nature of the vast majority of institutions.
