RioContentMarket 2016 Returns to Barra March 9th-11th

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – With organizers estimating over 3,000 attendees, the RioContentMarket will return to the Hotel Windsor in Barra da Tijuca on March 9th and continue through the 11th for its sixth edition. The event is is focused on expanding the international market for multi-platform content produced by Brazil’s television and digital media industries.

Once again RioContentMarket will feature lectures, panel discussions, content exhibitions, 1-to-1 meetings, pitching sessions and guest speakers.

This year the lineup of speakers includes screenwriter and “Jessica Jones” show runner Melissa Rosenberg; television writer and producer Howard Gordon, known for his work on “24” and “Homeland”; co-producer of the Amazon series “Transparent,” Rhys Ernst; and producer of the films “The Revenant” and “Spotlight,” and television series “Mr. Robot,” Anonymous Content chairman-CEO Steve Golin.

Guests will also include executives and buyers from Amazon Studios, Hulu and Netflix and organizers estimate that over one thousand buyers will attend this edition and participate in Rodadas de Negócios (Business Rounds) with producers pitching television series and reality shows among other visual content.

One event during the opening day of this edition, March 9th, will feature Steve Solot, President of the Rio Film Commission and president of the Latin American Training Center (LATC), launching the second edition of “The Expanding Brazilian Film, Television and Digital Industry/Cinema, televisão e mídia digital no Brasil: uma indústria em expansão.” The book is an updated version, in bilingual English-Portuguese format, of a compilation of essays and articles by important leaders in the Brazilian audiovisual industry.

The RioContentMarket was created by the Brasileira de Produtoras Independentes de TV (ABPITV) and first launched in 2011. Curated by Esmeralda Produções and organized by Fagga | GL events Exhibitions, it is now recognized as one of the biggest events for the audiovisual industry in Latin America. During its previous five editions more than 14,000 industry professional from over thirty-event countries participated in the event.
