PARTY:
BlackBASE 2k19 @ Fabrika (Itanhangá) – Hip-hop fans rejoice! One of Rio’s biggest celebrations of urban music is back, taking place at the luxurious nightclub-cum-outdoor space Fabrika.
If you want to dance to the best hip-hop, Trap, Rap, R’n’B and soul, then this is the party for you, with musical guests including Morenno (National Champion of Red Bull 3Style), Saraiva, Bruno X, Luísa Viscardi, and Mayah.
Tickets are available from R$50 and the party starts at 10PM.

International Jazz Day Brasil @ Blue Note Rio (Lagoa) – Come celebrate International Jazz Day at the most charming jazz club in Rio.
Blue Note Rio are putting on a mega line-up to commemorate this international event. Hear live sets from some of the best jazz musicians in Brazil, including, but not limited to, Aloisio de Abreu, Celso Fonseca, Indianna Nomma, Robertinho Silva, and Zé Renato.
Proceedings start at 9PM and tickets are available from R$70.

PARTY:
Funk’in Vespera de Feriado @ Bar do Nanam (Centro) – It’s a free funk fest at Bar do Nanam tonight. This place always throws a good party and tonight looks set to be no exception.
Hear the trademark carioca sounds from DJ FLASH, Consciencia, and Matheus Castro as they spin the most danceable funk, trap, hip-hop, and drum and bass.
The party is set to start at 9PM and it’s free but the organizers ask that participants put a contribution in the musicians’ hat and buy their drinks from the local bars.

Comuna (Botafogo)
Botafogo’s favorite bar for undergrad students and hipsters. Comuna is famous for its homemade burgers and variety of beer labels.

A stone’s throw from the beach, Bar Veloso is styled after the bossa nova-era of Rio de Janeiro. Their feijoada is excellent and they serve a variety of traditional Brazilian dishes and snacks. Expect slightly higher prices than usual, due to the prime location.

Dida Bar e Restaurante (Tijuca)
Specialized in Afro-Brazilian and African food, Bar da Dida is a great option for authentic, hard-to-find soulful food. Make sure to try their appetizers.

Shake Speakeasy Bar (Centro)
Run by the award-winning barman and mixologist Walter Garin, Shake Speakeasy mixes some of the best cocktails in the city in an inspired ‘hidden’ location. Located in a shopping center a few steps away from the equally innovative Curto Café, Shake Speakeasy Bar may be a little hard to find, but its thirties ambiance and competitively-priced drinks make it well worth the trip.
