Luis Fonsi, the Puerto Rican singer behind the 2017 global hit “Despacito”, plays Santiago, Chile, on Thursday 1 April 2027. Tickets are on sale now, and US fans need no visa for the trip.

The show at Santander Arena, the former Movistar Arena, opens the Chile leg of his Mar Infinito World Tour. Fonsi grew up in Orlando, Florida, and the tour itself opens in Puerto Rico on Saturday 20 February 2027.

Who Luis Fonsi Is and Why This Show Matters

Luis Fonsi was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1978 and grew up in Orlando, Florida. At school there, he sang in a vocal group with Joey Fatone, later of the boy band NSYNC.

His global breakthrough came with “Despacito”, recorded with Daddy Yankee and released in January 2017. The remix with Justin Bieber spent 16 straight weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.

That run tied the record then held by “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, Billboard noted. The “Despacito” video was also YouTube’s most-watched until November 2020.

The tour’s name is Spanish for “infinite sea”, a nod to the ocean and his Puerto Rican roots, Pudahuel reported. MAR also joins the initials of his daughter Mika, his wife Águeda and his son Rocco.

Tour announcements in Chile promise “Despacito”, “Échame la Culpa”, “Aquí Estoy Yo” and “No Me Doy por Vencido”. His recent releases “Cambiaré” and “Me Despido” are on the bill too, Cooperativa reported.

The tour starts in Puerto Rico and then visits Europe, Latin America, North America and Asia. In Chile, Luis Fonsi plays four dates, and Santiago comes first.

His official tour page then lists Gran Arena Monticello, in the O’Higgins region south of Santiago, on Friday 2 April. Concepción follows on Tuesday 6 April and Antofagasta, in the north, on Thursday 8 April.

Fans in the US have a closer option on Friday 11 December 2026, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. He joins Amor En Vivo there, a radio station concert with several other artists, the arena says.

Tickets and Prices for the Santiago Show

PuntoTicket is the only official seller for Luis Fonsi in Santiago, as for every show at Santander Arena, the venue says. The arena also sells tickets at its own box office on show days.

The promoter is Producciones e Inversiones Swing, a Chilean company named on both the venue’s event page and the PuntoTicket listing. General sale opened on Thursday 17 September, with a limit of six tickets per purchase.

The prices below are totals, with PuntoTicket’s 16% service charge included. They are converted at 989 Chilean pesos to the US dollar, the rate on Tuesday 6 October 2026.

The cheapest seats are in the Tribuna section at 34,800 pesos (US$35). Platea Alta Silver costs 58,000 pesos (US$59), and Platea Alta Golden costs 69,600 pesos (US$70).

In the Platea Baja sections, prices run from 83,520 pesos (US$84) for Silver to 109,040 pesos (US$110) for Diamante. Golden Lateral costs 69,600 pesos (US$70), Golden 81,200 pesos (US$82), Platinum Lateral 104,400 pesos (US$106) and Platinum 127,600 pesos (US$129).

Diamante Lateral costs 162,400 pesos (US$164), Diamante 185,600 pesos (US$188), and Primeras Filas, the front rows, 232,000 pesos (US$235). Wheelchair places and companion seats cost 52,200 pesos (US$53) each, with limited stock.

Credit and debit cardholders of Banco Ripley, a Chilean bank, get 20% off the face value but not the service charge. With that discount, a Tribuna seat costs 28,800 pesos (US$29).

The offer covers a stock of 3,000 tickets, and PuntoTicket still showed it as available on Tuesday 6 October. Everyone who enters the arena needs a ticket of their own.

Santander Arena: The Venue and How to Get There

Santander Arena, where Luis Fonsi plays, stands inside Parque O’Higgins, a public park in central Santiago. Ticket listings give its address as Beaucheff 1204.

It was called Movistar Arena from 2008 until September 2026, when Banco Santander bought the naming rights, BioBioChile reported. It is the same indoor arena, with the same entrances.

Building work began in 1958 for the 1959 basketball world championship. The shell then stood unfinished for decades and earned the nickname “white elephant”.

It finally opened in 2006 as Arena Santiago, with a visit by the Dalai Lama. Today it holds about 15,500 people under a dome 50 metres (164 feet) high, according to the venue.

Walk-in access is through the Parque O’Higgins Metro station or from Tupper street, the arena says. The station sits on Line 2 of the Santiago Metro.

Parking is limited and must be bought in advance on PuntoTicket. Cars enter from Avenida Viel or Avenida Tupper, as shown on the parking ticket.

Every guest passes a security check with metal detectors. Bottles, food and drink, sharp objects, umbrellas, professional cameras and banners on sticks are not allowed, the venue’s rules say.

Smoking and vaping are banned inside the building. There are bars, terraces, two cafés and 13 snack counters on site, and free Wi-Fi covers parts of the arena.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

US citizens need no visa for tourist stays of 90 days or less, the US State Department says. Your passport must be valid for the whole stay.

The department also says tourists must be able to show at least US$46 a day for expenses. It adds that you receive a tourist card on arrival and must hand it back when you leave.

Take that passport to the show. The arena asks every guest to present a ticket together with an ID card or passport.

The State Department rates Chile at Level 2, “exercise increased caution”, and says street crime is common. It names Plaza de Armas, Bellavista, Barrio Lastarria and Mercado Central among Santiago’s pickpocketing hotspots.

It also warns that criminals have drugged and robbed US citizens. Keep your drink in sight, and keep your phone out of view in crowds.

Ride-share apps and taxis with orange and yellow licence plates are generally safe, the department says. It calls public transport generally safe, available and inexpensive.

A 9pm start on a Thursday means a late finish. Plan your ride back to the hotel before the show, not after the encore.

Peso prices are fixed, so the US$ cost moves with the exchange rate. Your card issuer may also add a foreign transaction fee to the bill.

The same arena hosts other big names before April, among them Def Leppard on Sunday 8 November. For more ideas this month, see what to do in Santiago in October 2026.

What Is Not Confirmed Yet

Door times have not been published. The venue says it announces them on its official Instagram account for each show.

No opening act has been named, and PuntoTicket lists Luis Fonsi alone on the bill. The songs named so far come from tour announcements, not from a published set list.

Only one Santiago date is on sale, and no second night has been announced. Tickets for the other Chile shows are sold separately through Ticketmaster, Puranoticia reported.

The US$ figures here are a guide. You pay in Chilean pesos, and the dollar amount will shift with the exchange rate before April.
