Cuba: Putin and Díaz-Canel will discuss the prospects for a strategic association

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, who is visiting Moscow, will discuss the prospects for a bilateral strategic partnership on November 22, the Kremlin reported.

“It is planned to discuss the current status and development prospects of the Russian-Cuban strategic partnership in the political, commercial, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and exchange views on key issues on the international agenda,” the statement said.

The Kremlin confirmed that the two leaders will take part in the inauguration, in the Russian capital, of a monument to the leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro.

Díaz-Canel is on an international tour between November 16 and 27 that includes visits to Algeria, Turkey, Russia and China.

The Cuban president met this November 21 in Moscow with the leader of the Russian Communist Party, Genadi Zyuganov, with whom he discussed the support measures for Cuba and will speak on November 22 before the State Duma (Lower House of the Russian Parliament).
