Chile: Former presidential pre-candidate Paula Narváez appointed as ambassador to the UN

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – President Gabriel Boric appointed the former president pre-candidate of the Socialist Party, Paula Narváez, as Chile’s ambassador to the United Nations (UN) on March 21.

Narváez currently holds the position at UN Women Guatemala as officer in charge, so she already has experience in this organization.

She previously served as government spokesperson during Michelle Bachelet’s second term.

In addition to Narváez, other positions were appointed by the President: Claudia Fuentes to the International Organizations based in Geneva; Sebastián Kraljevich to the Organization of American States (OAS) based in Washington DC; and Francisco Saffie to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) based in Paris.

Chancellor Antonia Urrejola informed that other ambassadorial positions are awaiting the approval of the different States.
