Brazilian documentary “Amazonia 4.0” wins prize at New York Film Festival

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In the month in which we celebrate World Environment Day (June 5), “Amazônia 4.0” is highlighted in another international film festival.

The documentary was awarded last Sunday, June 6, at the New York International Film Awards – NYIFA – in the category of Best Short Documentary , for the month of May.

The film, produced by Grape ESG Platform, was released less than two months ago and has already won two awards. The first success was the Special Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the Europe Film Festival UK, Session March and April 2021.

The IMDb New York International Film Awards Qualifier is a monthly film and screenplay competition held every two months with a public screening in Manhattan, New York. Each month a selection is made and the best projects are recognized by NYIFA at private screenings.

Award winners will receive a certificate in HQ digital format and will be listed on the Official Awards website. Winners can upload their credits on IMDb.

The film Amazônia 4.0 was released worldwide in online format for Earth Day on April 22. It is 25 minutes long and aims to raise awareness of key issues around Amazon sustainability and the surrounding economy.

The film is produced by Ricardo Assumpção, CEO of Grape ESG, and Ione Anderson, COO of Grape ESG.

The film is based on the Amazonia 4.0 project – idealized by Carlos Nobre, senior researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo (USP).

The project aims to combine the economic potential of Amazonian socio-biodiversity with the new technologies and opportunities arising from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

This concept arises from the combination of digital technologies, biotechnologies and material sciences, applying these modern technologies on a large scale for the social, economic and environmental benefit of the Amazon and its people.
