July vacations: see 3 most wanted destinations for Brazilians in 2023

Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Miami, US are the most sought-after international destinations by Brazilians for the July vacations, according to a survey conducted by Latam Airlines released to Nossa/UOL on Thursday (1).

The airline revealed that it has already scheduled more than a thousand flights for the period from July 1 to July 31 to the three cities, distributed among 10 international routes departing from the airports of Guarulhos (SP), Galeão (RJ), Curitiba (PR), Fortaleza (CE) and Porto Alegre (RS).

About 200,000 passengers are expected to fly to these locations during the mid-year vacations.

For this, the airline foresees 187 extra flights in relation to the number of regular flights already offered in June.

“These searches show us two passenger profiles: those who want to enjoy the winter season in South America, with Santiago and Buenos Aires as destinations sought after in the region, and those who prefer to escape to the heat, as is the case of customers who are buying tickets to Miami,” reflects Aline Mafra, director of sales and marketing at Latam Brazil.

REINFORCEMENT FOR BUENOS AIRES

Latam will resume in July daily flights from Rio de Janeiro, departing from Galeão airport, to the two airports in Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza) to serve school vacation travelers.

There will be five weekly flights to Ezeiza and two to Aeroparque Jorge Newberry during the entire third quarter – from July to September – 2023. Tickets are already available on the airline’s website.

EXPLORING BRAZIL IS ALSO AN OPTION

Latam also expects an increase in domestic travel for those looking to rest in destinations within Brazil, and for this reason, will offer 1,900 extra flights between July 1 and July 31, compared to the regular operation this June, to 55 domestic destinations.

The airline will operate a total of 24,500 domestic and international flights during the vacation season, about 17% more than in July 2022.

21 international destinations will be covered on 28 routes (leaving from the airports of São Paulo/Guarulhos, Rio de Janeiro/Galeão, Brasília, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, and Fortaleza).

In addition, the company also has connections to 67 other global destinations.

Latam currently carries 64.1% of passengers on international flights in Brazil, according to Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency).

In addition to the recently opened routes Porto Alegre-Santiago and Brasilia-Lima, the company plans to start this year the routes Foz do Iguaçu-Lima, Santiago-Melbourne, Lima-Aruba, Guarulhos-Johannesburg, and Guarulhos-Los Angeles, in partnership with Delta Air Lines.
