Survey shows pessimistic consumer and optimistic business people in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A survey shows a mismatch in the perception of the economy between consumers and business people in Rio de Janeiro. Consumers are more afraid of losing their jobs, while business people are confident in the economic recovery.

The data is from Instituto Fecomércio de Pesquisas e Análises (IFEC RJ), which interviewed 523 people.

The rate of consumers afraid of dismissal rose from 60.7% to 62.1%, while the portion of those confident in the national economic recovery fell from 42.6% to 36.1%.
