Uruguay’s Trans community sees light at the end of the tunnel

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - As part of the 8M, various feminist collectives gathered in Plaza Independencia. The Colectivo Trans del Uruguay (CTU) was present and its president, Colette Spinetti, referred to the case of Fanny Aguiar in her speech. "The criminal justice system has sentenced the transfemicide of Fanny to 24 years in prison, which is an important milestone," Spinetti said.
