Paraguay’s Olimpia sport Club, the country’s most successful, celebrates its 120th birthday

With 45 official local championships and eight international titles, Paraguay's Olimpia is the team with the most cups raised in the history of the country and today commemorates its 120 years of institutional life. Also, the King of Copas of Paraguay is the only Guarani team to win three Copa Libertadores.

Although names such as “Paraguay” and “Esparta” were initially suggested, the one that was finally to the liking of the majority is the one suggested by William Paats: “Football Club Olimpia”, and the one that continues to distinguish the club today.
