Colombian journalists Leiner Montero and Dilia Contreras were shot dead Sunday morning (28) local time in the northern Colombian department of Magdalena.
The mayor of the municipality of Fundación, Carlos Sierra, confirmed that the journalists were attending the patron saint festival in the town of Santa Rosa de Lima.
After leaving the celebration, they were intercepted by two men on motorcycles who shot at them repeatedly.
Montero was the director of the radio station “Sol Digital Stereo” and was involved in an argument with a man at a party shortly before his death.
However, it is not known if the two incidents are related.
