Bolivia recognizes the creation of an original indigenous territory

This ancestral territory comprises the Qullana, Wisijsa, Checochi, and Qorq ayllus and has a population of more than 5,000 inhabitants.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The native indigenous peasant territory of Jatun Ayllu Yura of the Qhara Qhara Nation celebrates today the recognition of its autonomy through an agreement of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (Parliament) of Bolivia.

"The fact that we have approved this bill is not a gift; it is a duty as parliamentarians," assured the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Freddy Mamani, after the bill was approved and sent to the Executive Branch for its enactment.
