Stolen Brazilian police patrol vehicle would have entered Paraguay

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A Brazilian Federal Police patrol car was stolen in the early hours of Thursday morning, March 3, in Foz do Iguaçú, Brazil, and would have entered Paraguay via Ciudad del Este, Department of Alto Paraná in Paraguay.

According to the information, the police vehicle was in an accredited workshop for mechanical maintenance, from which it was stolen.

Authorities in Brazil reported that police officers are already on the streets to identify those involved and try to locate the vehicle.

Alerts were issued to the tri-border countries (Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay), and a support request was made to the Paraguayan National Police, through the Tripartite Command, for the recovery of the vehicle and identification of those allegedly involved in the incident.

Investigations are already underway to hold the perpetrators and participants responsible in Brazil and Paraguay.
