Sales of Brazilian food industry closes 2021 with a high of 17%

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Brazilian food industry closes the year 2021 with revenues of R$ 922.6 billion, a result 16.9% higher than that recorded in 2020. The amount represents 10.6% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimated for last year.

The data, released yesterday (15), are from the Brazilian Association of Food Industry (Abia).

According to the survey, the sector's sales in 2021 grew 3.2% and production, 1.3%. Considering only the sales to the domestic market, which represent 73.5% of the revenues, the increase was 1.8%.
