China ends suspension of the purchase of Brazilian meat
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – China ended the embargo on Brazilian meat. The Ministry of Agriculture still does not know the details but was notified during the early hours of this Wednesday, December 15th, of the decision.
In October, Brazil exported only 82.18 thousand tons of beef, the lowest volume since June 2018, when there was the truckers’ strike. China’s suspension was the main reason for this.
Shipments were halted after two atypical cases of the mad cow disease were reported in the states of Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso.

The World Organization for Animal Health informed that the occurrences do not represent a risk for the Brazilian bovine production chain. Even so, China maintained the veto for more than three months.
