RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Trend Micro, a cybersecurity solutions company, has just published the Fast Facts Report, which analyzes the global scenario of digital threats from January to December 2021. The report shows that Brazil is the country that sends the most extortion and sextortion threats. The United States is the main target of extortion. The study is based on unique IP addresses.
Although the total number of blocked threats decreased by 13.2% in December, it increased in the fourth quarter, especially in November, ending the year with 94.2 billion attempted cyberattacks, up 42% from 2020.
