Paraguay improves by 287% the number of tourists in January
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Tourism Observatory of Paraguay’s National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur) has reported a 287% increase in tourist arrivals to the country in January 2022 compared to January 2021.
Based on the information provided by the General Directorate of Migration, in January 2022, 24,830 people arrived in Paraguay as tourists; some 20,689 people by land (83%); 4,139 entered by air (17%); and two people by river.
Of the 24,830 tourists who entered the country in January, 64.8% were Argentineans, 17.6% were Brazilians, 2.8% Germans, 2.2% Bolivians, and 2.1% Spanish.
There were also tourists from the United States, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru, and other countries in smaller numbers.
Paraguay Tourism points out that these figures coincide with the positioning of Paraguay as a Safe Travels destination, accompanied by the commitment of the private sector with the application of sanitary protocols approved by the Ministry of Health and international organizations, and the promotion of the country with offers of diverse, safe, and unique experiences.
