Brazil: LATAM recovers, significantly increases its domestic flight offer
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In total, there are 541 LATAM domestic flights per day in Brazil. Overall, the increase will enable the company to strengthen its Brazilian air network and prepare to meet the 2021-2022 peak season demand.
LATAM has now surpassed the 44 domestic airports it served in Brazil before the pandemic, as it currently regularly serves 47 destinations in the country, including the inaugurations of flights to Juazeiro do Norte (CE) and Petrolina (PE) in early November.

In addition, during this month, the company will reopen 15 additional domestic routes: Belém-Macapá, Porto Seguro-Brasilia, Brasilia-Foz do Iguaçu, Brasilia-Navigantes, Brasilia-Palmas, Brasilia-Uberlândia, Belo Horizonte/Confins-Fortaleza, Curitiba-Rio de Janeiro/Santos Dumont, Fortaleza-Maceió, Fortaleza-Natal, Fortaleza-Recife, Fortaleza-São Luís, Fortaleza-Salvador, Manaus-Porto Velho and São Luís-Teresina.
Outbound from Brazil, LATAM will resume up to 32% of its international seat supply this month compared to November 2019, with operations now re-established to 16 destinations.
Earlier this month, the company resumed the São Paulo/Guarulhos-Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro/Galeão-Santiago routes, adding to previously resumed destinations from São Paulo/Guarulhos to Buenos Aires/Aeroparque, Buenos Aires/Ezeiza, Asunción, Bogotá, Paris, Frankfurt, New York, Lima, Lisbon, Madrid, Mendoza, Mexico City, Miami, Montevideo and Santiago.
“We will reach the end of the year ready to serve the high travel season in Brazil. We are very attentive to the resumption of demand. Also because we have reached a level of operational efficiency that allows us to fly in Brazil to more airports than before the pandemic. The recovery in the international market is slower, but we are also flying back to a growing number of destinations as countries’ reopening process progresses,” says LATAM Brazil’s sales and marketing director Diogo Elias.
During last October (compared to 2019), LATAM registered 83.9% passenger demand (measured in RPK) and 83.5% seat supply (measured in ASK) in the Brazilian domestic market, resulting in an occupancy rate of 85.8%.
