Biden Says ‘No Crisis’ in U.S.-China Relations

U.S. President Joe Biden said China is altering how trade works but there is no crisis and he doesn’t want to harm China.

Biden said, “I don’t aim to hurt China. I want a good relationship.”

“The India trip was about that. We can make our ties with other countries stronger,” he stated.

Biden also talked with Li Qiang, China’s Prime Minister, at the G20. He called him China’s “number two” leader.

Asked about not speaking to Xi Jinping for ten months, Biden had an answer. He said both sides’ teams are talking.

“No talks with Xi doesn’t mean there’s a crisis. Speaking would be good, but he’s busy,” Biden added.
