BB Seguridade Reports R$10.18B Revenue and 70% ROE in 2024

BB Seguridade Participações S.A., a leading player in Brazil’s insurance and pension markets, reported a net adjusted profit of R$2.17 billion ($361.67 million) for the fourth quarter of 2024, a 5.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

For the full year, the company achieved a profit of R$8.15 billion ($1.36 billion), reflecting a 5.7% growth year-over-year. These results, announced on February 17, 2025, align with market expectations and underscore BB Seguridade’s ability to navigate challenging economic conditions while delivering consistent growth.

Brasilseg, the company’s insurance arm, drove much of this performance with a Q4 net profit of R$1.26 billion ($210 million). This marked a 13.7% increase from the prior year, fueled by higher premiums earned and reduced retained claims expenses.

For 2024, Brasilseg’s profit climbed to R$4.46 billion ($743.33 million), marking a 10.5% increase. This performance highlights its strong underwriting capabilities and cost discipline. However, Brasilprev, the pension segment, faced headwinds as its Q4 net profit dropped 27.1% to R$366.5 million ($61.08 million).

A Resilient Performance Amid Market Challenges

For the year, its profit fell 22.1% to R$1.48 billion ($246.67 million), impacted by lower fund inflows and unfavorable market conditions. BB Corretora, the brokerage division, delivered robust results with a Q4 net profit of R$857.6 million ($142.93 million), up 9.5%.

The annual profit reached R$3.3 billion ($550 million), up 10.7%, driven by higher brokerage revenues. In 2024, BB Seguridade achieved total revenue of R$10.18 billion ($1.7 billion).

However, this performance highlights the company’s operational efficiency and resilience across its business units. It maintained a return on equity near 70%.
