Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – American soul/R&B singer Macy Gray returns to Rio tonight to perform at Lapa’s Circo Voador. Gray was last in Rio for the 2011 Back2Black music festival.
This time Gray arrives in the city as part of an ongoing tour in celebration of the 15th anniversary of her debut album entitled, On How Life is. Featuring the songs “Do Something,” “Still,” and “I Try,” among others, the album has sold over seven million copies worldwide since its release in 1999.
Thus far in her career, Gray has a total of six studio album releases and is a a recipient of several awards, including a 2001 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “I Try.”
