RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – As of May 1, 2022, the entry measures to Colombia and the conditions for international travelers who arrive by air or land to the national territory change.
According to the General Director of Migration Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa Palacios, in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Health, international travelers who arrive by air in the country must present their vaccination card with the complete scheme for COVID-19 and in If they do not have it, they may present a negative PCR test, carried out a maximum of 72 hours before the trip or a negative antigen test, which must be carried out a maximum of 48 hours before the flight.

This measure applies to both national and foreign citizens, over 18 years of age.
Regarding the CheckMig application, the Director of Migration Colombia, indicated that it will continue to be a mandatory requirement for international travelers, both for entry and exit from the national territory.
CheckMig can be completed 72 hours in advance of the trip and facilitates the migration control process, making the waiting time in the control filters much shorter. In addition, the application can be completed from the Migración Colombia website or by downloading the application found in the Play Store or the App Store of the different mobile devices.
In the case of the border between Colombia and Venezuela, the Colombian immigration authority decided to lift the measure of “pico y cédula”, in order to make the passage of more than 30,000 people who move between the two countries more flexible.
It is worth remembering that the “pico y cédula” measure had been arranged by Migration Colombia in order to maintain control in health matters and take care of migrants and the region in times of pandemic.
