PARTY:
Balaio Bom @ Praça Tiradentes (Centro) – This Balaio (big party) is on the street, in the square of Praça Tiradentes in Rio’s historical city center. And since Christmas is coming, they have prepared a full-on evening for everyone to get into the highest of spirits.
This free event will begin at 2PM, but won’t end until about 1:30AM. There will be plenty of handicrafts, clothes, arts and gastronomy before the music starts pumping at 6:30PM. Expect plenty of baile funk, hip-hop, and pop hits.

LIVE:
Eduardo Neves @ Vizinha 123 (Botafogo) – This is a rare chance to see the magnificent arrangements of maestro Eduardo Neves with his tribute to the songs of Nelson Cavaquinho. The evening counts on the special participation of Eduardo Galotti, another specialist in Cavaquinho’s work.
The full band are as follows: Eduardo Neves – arrangements, sax and flute; Adriano Souza – piano; André Vasconcellos – bass; and Rafael Barata – drums.
The evening begins at 8PM and tickets are between R$30-R$40.

Baile do Saddam @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – One of the most democratic dancefloors in the ‘Zona Sul’ (South Zone) of Rio, celebrates the 23rd edition of Baile do Saddam, which will also tie-in with the birthday of DJ Saddam.
As always, it’s a party until the sun comes up with the DJs dropping the best hip-hop, funk, r’n’b, and pop hits. The lineup includes, on the main dancefloor: DJ Saddam, DJ Bruno X, DJ Pogo (UK), Rapha Lima, and Zedroque. And on the Fosfobar dancefloor, there will be sets from Sarah Ferreira, Nicole Nandes, and Luana Paiva.
Tickets are between R$10-R$30 and the night starts at 11:30PM with the first fifty entrants receiving a free Heienken!

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Blue Agave in Ipanema is a great place for Mexican food, strong drinks and watching the latest domestic and international sports. They have English-speaking staff and is a popular expat hangout in Ipanema. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.

Flashback (Ipanema)
Flashback is a high-end restaurant with plenty of classical music and photos decorating the walls. Tonight, between 7PM and 9PM the restaurant will serve a happy hour with two for one on caipivodkas and Stella Artois. The caipivodkas are made fresh with either lime, strawberry or passionfruit as well as additional herbs added in for a taste explosion.
