Publicis Acquires BR Media Group, Expands Influencer Marketing in Brazil

Publicis Groupe has acquired Brazil’s BR Media Group, a leading influencer marketing company with a network of over 500,000 creators.

The deal, estimated at R$550 million (around $110 million), reflects a multiple of eight times BR Media’s EBITDA of R$70 million. This move strengthens Publicis’ position in Latin America’s fast-growing influencer marketing sector.

Founded in 2012 by Celso Ribeiro and Danilo Basso, BR Media began by monetizing athletes’ social media followings before expanding to broader influencer marketing.

Today, the company works with 80% of the region’s top creators and serves over 500 clients, including McDonald’s, Chevrolet, Nestlé, and Unilever. Its services span the entire influencer marketing value chain, from strategy to execution, and include initiatives in the creator economy.

Publicis plans to integrate BR Media’s proprietary technology, which leverages over 5 billion data points from 50 sources. This integration will enhance Epsilon’s identity-based marketing platform.

This will allow clients to streamline audience targeting, manage influencer campaigns more effectively, and measure campaign performance across digital channels.

Publicis Expands in Latin America with BR Media Acquisition

Publicis CEO Arthur Sadoun stated that the acquisition strengthens the company’s ability to deliver personalized marketing solutions. This is especially crucial in a fragmented media landscape.

The deal builds on an existing partnership between Publicis and BR Media launched in 2024, which aimed to simplify influencer project management for clients.

It also aligns with Publicis’ broader strategy to expand in Latin America, where it reported 30.3% growth in 2024. Recent acquisitions like Retargetly and Practia have bolstered its data-driven capabilities in the region.

Pending regulatory approval from Brazil’s antitrust authority (CADE), the transaction is expected to close by March 2025.This acquisition highlights the growing importance of influencer marketing.
