Polls open in Brazil for second round of presidential elections
The polls in Brazil opened at 8:00 local time (GMT-3) this Oct. 30 for the second round of the general elections, during which will be defined who will be the president of the country from 2023, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of the Workers’ Party, (PT, left) or Jair Bolsonaro, of the Liberal Party (PL, right).
Bolsonaro, having arrived 10 minutes earlier, cast his vote in Rio de Janeiro, surrounded by his supporters.
More than 156.4 million voters are called to the polls. Voting throughout the country will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (local time).

In the first round of the elections, Lula obtained 48.43% of the votes, while Bolsonaro received 43.2%.
Although polls agree on an advantage for Lula da Silva, the trend has evened out, and the average of the last 10 polls published in Brazil indicates a difference of only two points in favor of the PT candidate.
