Jet, the Australian rock band from Melbourne, plays its first concert in Brazil on Sunday 18 April 2027. The show takes place at Audio, a concert hall in São Paulo’s Barra Funda district, with doors at 7 p.m. and the band at 9 p.m. São Paulo time. Ticket360 opens the general sale on Saturday 10 October 2026 at 10 a.m. Prices have not yet been published.

A band from Melbourne that never reached Brazil

Jet formed in Melbourne, Australia’s second-largest city, in 2001. Brothers Nic Cester, on vocals and guitar, and Chris Cester, on drums, founded it with guitarist Cameron Muncey. Bassist Mark Wilson joined the following year.

The band’s debut album, Get Born, came out in 2003. It reached number one in Australia and went platinum in the United States and the United Kingdom. Its lead single, “Are You Gonna Be My Girl”, won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Rock Video in 2004.

The song travelled far beyond radio. It appeared in the video games Guitar Hero and Rock Band, in the film Eurotrip and in Apple iPod advertising. For many people in Brazil, it is a familiar riff long before it is a familiar band name.

Jet released two more albums, Shine On in 2006 and Shaka Rock in 2009, and split in 2012. The band reunited for shows in 2016 and again in 2023. In November 2023 it entered the ARIA Hall of Fame, the honour roll of Australia’s music industry body.

New music, and a first trip across South America

In 2024 Jet released “Hurry Hurry”, its first new single in 15 years. The Ticket360 listing says the band is now preparing a new album. Its touring has widened in step with that return.

In March 2026 Jet headlined REC, a free music festival in Concepción, Chile. That was its first appearance in South America. The 2027 run, billed as the JET 2027 South America Tour, goes further.

The tour opens in Bogotá, Colombia, on Saturday 10 April 2027 at the Royal Center. It moves to Santiago, Chile, on Tuesday 13 April, at the Teatro La Cúpula. São Paulo closes the run five days later. The Rio Times has a separate guide to the Bogotá date.

Outside South America, Consequence lists Australian dates in late 2026 and a slot at Germany’s Open Flair Festival in August 2027. São Paulo is the band’s only announced date in Brazil.

How the Ticket360 sale works

Ticket360 is a Brazilian ticketing company, and it is the only seller named on the event page. Tickets are sold through its website and its smartphone app. The page accepts credit cards and PIX, Brazil’s instant bank-transfer system.

A presale for registered fans opened on Tuesday 29 September at 10 a.m. It runs until 10 October and requires a code from the fan registration. Without the code, the ticket sectors stay locked on the page.

The general sale opens on Saturday 10 October 2026 at 10 a.m. São Paulo time. Ticket360 has not yet published the price of any sector. Prices will be visible on the event page when the sectors open.

Ticket360 also offers a virtual box office in its app. A buyer standing within 500 metres of Audio can buy through the app without the service fee, according to the event page.

Half-price tickets under Brazilian law

Brazil has a legal half-price ticket system called meia-entrada. Up to 40 percent of the tickets in each sector are set aside for it, under a 2013 federal law.

Students with an official student identity card qualify, as do people with disabilities and one companion where needed. Public-school teachers and young people from low-income families on the CadÚnico social register also qualify.

People aged 60 and over have their own right to half price under a separate law, outside the 40 percent quota. Every group must show the matching document at the door. A buyer without it may be asked to pay the difference or be refused entry.

Inside Audio, a mid-sized hall in Barra Funda

Audio is a concert and events hall on Avenida Francisco Matarazzo, one of the main roads of west-central São Paulo. Ticket360 lists two sectors for this show. The standing floor, called the pista, holds 2,430 people, and the upper mezzanine holds 490.

That makes a room of about 2,900 people, small by the standards of the city’s stadium tours. International rock and indie acts often play Audio on their first visit to Brazil.

The show is rated for over-18s only, so every guest should carry photo identification. For a foreign visitor, that means a passport. Doors open at 7 p.m., two hours before the band starts.

The venue’s house rules are strict. They ban professional cameras, selfie sticks, umbrellas, football club shirts, flip-flops, glass and outside drinks. Medicines are allowed only with a valid prescription. No opening act has been announced, and the organiser has not published an end time.

Getting there and getting home on a Sunday night

The nearest station is Palmeiras-Barra Funda, about 400 metres from the venue. It is a transport hub on Line 3-Red of the São Paulo metro. Suburban CPTM trains and the Barra Funda intercity bus terminal share the same complex.

Across the station stands the Memorial da América Latina, a cultural complex designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Its open plazas and sculptures make a calm place to spend an hour before the doors open.

São Paulo’s metro normally runs until around midnight. Ride-hailing apps such as Uber and 99 work well and are the simplest choice after a late show. Book the car from inside the venue and wait near the entrance.

Barra Funda mixes offices, warehouses and transport links, and some streets grow quiet at night. Keep your phone out of sight on the pavement, as you would in any large city. The following Monday is an ordinary working day in Brazil.

Why a first visit after 25 years matters

Jet’s arrival follows a familiar pattern for bands of the early-2000s guitar wave. Their biggest songs keep circulating through games, films and streaming playlists long after the charts move on. Years later, the bands return to play for audiences who grew up with them.

For São Paulo, the date also confirms the city’s role as the main Brazilian stop for international tours. A band visiting South America for the first time chose one Brazilian city, and it chose São Paulo.

For a newcomer in the city, a night at Audio is also a simple introduction to how concerts work in Brazil. Tickets are digital, half-price rules apply, and the metro and ride apps cover the trip. On 18 April, Jet adds Brazil to a map it has been redrawing since its return.
