RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Travelers entering Ecuador must meet specific requirements. According to the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), these guidelines also apply to air travelers.
In total, the organization has established eight guidelines for visitors coming to Ecuador or the Galapagos Islands. These are set out in the Guidelines for Entry by Air to the Ecuadorian Mainland and Islands, dated October 21, 2021.

Upon entering the country, the Travelers’ Health Declaration must be presented. The document is presented when boarding the airline.

The form can be found at https://encuestas.msp.gob.ec/index.php/947917?lang=es. It is not necessary to print it.
Travelers who are over two years old must present the vaccination card against Covid-19 when entering Ecuador. It is valid for at least 14 days after completing the required program (one or two doses, depending on the provider).
You may also present a negative result of the real-time PCR test performed up to 72 hours before entering Ecuador. Members of the flight crew are exempt from these requirements.
Ecuadorians who have been declared inadmissible in other countries and are returning to Ecuador are not required to present the PCR test. However, the MSP will conduct a rapid antigen test upon arrival.
To enter Galapagos, you must meet the above requirements. You must also present the transit control card issued by the Galapagos Special Regime Government Council.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE PASSENGER COMES TO ECUADOR FROM INDIA?
Passengers whose point of origin, stopover, or transit was in India must present a negative PCR test result up to 72 hours before boarding the flight to Ecuador. This requirement applies whether or not they have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
They must also be preventively isolated for ten days in their home or a shelter of their choice. The cost of the latter is the responsibility of the traveler. This requirement must be met regardless of a test result or immigration status.
A non-Indian traveler in transit does not need to present the negative test or Covid 19 vaccination card.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE TRAVELER HAS SYMPTOMS ASSOCIATED WITH COVID-19?
All travelers entering Ecuador should report their symptoms to health authorities.
A passenger who presents with symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough, general malaise, loss of smell or taste, etc.) will be examined by medical personnel regardless of the positive or negative result.
In case of suspicion, a test (nasopharyngeal swab) will be performed. In case of a positive result, you must spend ten days at home or in accommodation of your choice (at your own expense); you must also report your progress to the Ministry of Health.
