Crypto’s Relief Rally Stalls With Bitcoin Trapped Around $91,000
The crypto market is catching its breath after Thursday’s sharp rebound, with prices drifting in a tight range on Friday morning. Bitcoin trades near $90,940, down about half a percent.
Ethereum hovers around $3,003, Solana at $139, XRP close to $2.20 and DOGE near $0.15, leaving most large caps slightly in the red after one of the weakest months of this cycle.
On Thursday total crypto market value jumped roughly 4.2% to around $3.2 trillion as 88 of the top-100 coins rose and spot ETFs for Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP recorded fresh inflows.
That bounce followed a week in which Bitcoin briefly tested the $80,000 area and sentiment turned sour. Today’s tone is more cautious as desks describe “defensive consolidation” rather than a new leg higher.
Bitcoin’s spot ETFs pulled in about $21 million of net inflows on Wednesday after several sessions of outflows. Yet on-chain analysts warn that key metrics remain bearish and that further upside still depends heavily on abundant liquidity rather than real economic use.

Weekly charts show BTC sitting below a band of resistance between roughly $100,000 and $105,000, pressed against the lower Bollinger band, with RSI near 39 and MACD still negative, even if the downside momentum is slowing.
Crypto bounce stays fragile under heavy resistance
On the daily chart Bitcoin is trying to build a base between $87,000 and $92,000, but price remains pinned under a cluster of downward-sloping moving averages from $93,000 to about $109,000.
MACD has turned up and RSI has recovered toward 40, while the four-hour chart looks far healthier: BTC trades back above short-term averages at $89,800–$91,200, with positive MACD and RSI around 62.
In practice this looks like a short-term trading bounce inside a broader correction, not a secure store-of-value trend. Ethereum at $3,003 enjoys stronger support from its new spot ETFs, which have logged several days of solid inflows and helped defend the $2,900–$3,000 zone.
Analysts see room toward $3,300–$3,500 if Bitcoin avoids another lurch lower. XRP, trading near $2.20, has also benefited from ETF demand of more than $580 million since launch but still needs to clear roughly $2.23–$2.24 to avoid a slide back toward the $1.50 region.
Solana tells a different story. Around $139, it is down more than 3% on the day and has just seen its first spot ETF outflow of roughly $8 million after a 21-day streak of inflows.
The rally has stalled below $145–$150, suggesting some investors are rotating out of the cycle’s favourite high-beta trade. Litecoin, stuck in the mid-$80s after falling from above $100 earlier in November, continues to lag without any clear catalyst.
BNB around $883 and DOGE near $0.15 also underperform Bitcoin’s flat line. The wildest swings remain in smaller tokens. On the venue snapshot, TRADOOR is up about 77% on the day, while IRYS is down 27%, GAIB nearly 19%, MON around 13% and XION roughly 23%.
FARTCOIN has already reversed after a double-digit surge, and whale-driven memes like SPX6900 still spike on single large buys. Real-World Asset tokens and parts of SocialFi are grinding higher, but many Layer-2 and meme names are giving back gains almost as fast as they made them.
Market makers say the wash-out of leveraged speculators has opened the door for steadier hands, yet they still describe conditions as “high-risk” and note that momentum has not truly reignited.
Modest ETF buying and pockets of altcoin euphoria cannot change the basic picture: crypto prices remain driven more by short-term flows and easy money than by productive fundamentals.
For disciplined investors, this looks less like a safe long-term refuge and more like a speculative side-bet that demands caution rather than blind faith.
