Covid-19: “It is ridiculous to consider vaccinating schoolchildren”, say Japanese experts

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – “Even if children, teenagers and people in their 20s are infected, it is naturally mild or asymptomatic,” said the Japanese drug bulletin Med Check (page 17). “It is ridiculous to consider vaccinating schoolchildren.”

Covid vaccines can present a risk of death at least seven times greater than the virus itself for young people, a Japanese medical bulletin warns.

A review in the most recent issue of Med Check, a bimonthly newsletter published by the Japan Institute of Pharmacovigilance (NOPJIP) as a member of the International Society of Drug Bulletins (ISDB), found that the risk of death following injections may even be up to 40 times higher for young people.

The NOPJIP is currently managed by Dr. Rokuro Hama.

Med Check cited three reports of people between the ages of 20 and 29 who died within days or weeks after vaccination, estimating the death rate for that age group at 3.2 per 1 million. One of the apparent vaccine deaths was a 27-year-old professional baseball player who collapsed eight days after receiving a jab and died after a month-long battle in a hospital.

The bulletin noted that the number of deaths might be higher partly because the Japanese government only requires reports of suspected vaccine injuries within 28 days of the injection. Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare received a total of 1,308 pieces of deaths following COVID vaccination as of October 15.

Even with only three cases, the risk of a fatal reaction to the vaccine significantly outweighed the danger of the virus to young people, who have a 0.6-0.8 per million chance of dying from the disease in Japan, according to Med Check. Only seven of Japan’s 11.8 million 20-year-olds died while COVID-positive in June 2021, and 10 died in mid-August.

The risk of death following vaccination was more than seven times higher in June, and nearly five times higher by August 11, compared with the risk presented by a coronavirus, Med Check determined. Over several years, the risk of death following vaccination among 20-year-olds could range up to 40 times higher than for COVID-19.

Med Check also noted no COVID-related deaths in Japan for those under 20 through September 2021. “If children in this age group are vaccinated, it can cause death,” the bulletin warned.

“Even if children, adolescents, and people in their 20s are infected, it is naturally mild or asymptomatic because they have less SARS-CoV-2 ACE2 receptor than adults, especially the elderly. It is ridiculous to consider vaccinating schoolchildren.”

Between 0.00 and 0.03 percent of COVID cases in the United States under 18 have resulted in deaths. A recent study found that zero healthy children between the ages of 5 and 18 died from the virus during the first 15 months of the pandemic in Germany.

The survival rate for COVID-19 has been estimated at no less than 99.7 percent for all age groups under 60.
