Brazilian Gamer Sells Rarities Collection for R$1.5 Million in Bitcoin

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazilian gamer Arthur “PAADA” Zarzur sold a collection of rare items of the game “Dota 2” for almost R$1.5 million (US$288,000) in bitcoin, according to information released by The Clutch website.

Zarzur is the founder and CEO of paiN Gaming team, an organization founded in 2011 and that became famous as one of the most traditional of “League of Legends ” (LoL) in Brazil.

The game “Dota 2”, released in 2013, is available on the Steam platform and is a multiplayer battle game, similar to LoL, developed by producer Valve Corporation as a sequel to the 2003 game “Defense of the Ancients”.

According to the official Brazilian “Dota 2” website, the game is the most played on Steam platform, which offers a wide variety of online games. In July, Steam launched a blockchain feature to simplify the issuance of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for trading.

“Courriers” are items that can be bought at the beginning of matches and used by all players, providing the items bought at the source to other players, which can give teams some advantage.

According to the text, Arthur Zarzur sold a collection of Courrier Legacy Pink for no less than 15 BTC to a Russian Steam user called The Emperor. At the bitcoin rate in Brazil on Monday, December 14th, the transaction cost exactly R$1,469,743.31.

This was not the first sale of rare items by the Brazilian gamer, who in 2013 sold “Courriers” of “Dota 2” for US$38,000 (or about R$88,000 at the time). The Brazilian was a “Dota 2” player between 2013 and 2015 by paiN Gaming and recently won a runner-up in the game for the CBDota 2 team.
