Brazil Successfully Transfers Citizens from Gaza to Egypt

Brazil’s President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, announced the evacuation of 32 Brazilians and their families from the Gaza Strip to Egypt.

This move follows over three weeks of negotiations with Israel, aiming to provide a safe passage amidst the Palestine conflict.

Lula da Silva praised the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Air Force for their efforts in ‘Operation Returning in Peace.’

This operation focused on aiding Brazilians in the conflict zone wishing to return home.

Initially residing in Gaza City, the evacuees had moved to an apartment near the Egyptian border, arranged by the foreign ministry. They successfully crossed into Egypt this Sunday.

Brazil has managed to bring back over 1,400 citizens since the conflict escalated with attacks by Hamas on October 7.

The recently evacuated group, including Brazilians and Palestinians with Brazilian nationality, will stay in Cairo until Monday.

A presidential aircraft from Brazil is scheduled to fly them to Brasilia.
