Rio de Janeiro’s Oktoberfest Rio returns in 2022 with full force – after two years interrupted because of the pandemic – to quench the thirst, hunger, and longing of lovers of good beer, German food, great music, and dance.

The festival takes place from October 14 to 16 and 21 to 23, at Marina da Glória, in Rio de Janeiro’s South Zone.

And to celebrate the “marriage” between German and Carioca culture, the theme of this third edition is samba.

There will be 20 shows with great names such as Alcione, Martinho da Vila, and Fundo de Quintal among the musical attractions and representatives of the younger generations of Bambas such as Ferrugem, Dilsinho, and Thiago Martins.

For the party to be complete, 120,000 liters of beer will be sold during the six days of the event, with 30 different labels.

Two German folk bands, the Bauernband and Bauernjazz, and typical Germanic dance groups from Petrópolis will attend the event every day.

To promote an authentic German cultural experience, the Oktoberfest Rio will take to the Marina da Glória, the best of the country’s gastronomy, at the restaurant Empório Germânico – Família Schaefer.

The space will offer traditional dishes of Germanic cuisine, among them the famous German sausages Weisswurst, Bockwurst, and Schublig, roast beef croquettes, and ham sandwiches to harmonize with one of the party’s stars: beer.

For the party to be complete, 120,000 liters of beer will be sold during the six days of the event, with 30 different labels.

The carioca touch will be on account of the spaces destined for the so-called “boteco games” (“pub games”). There will be a pool, foosball, and beer pong, among other games.

Although it is a party, there is no dress code. But those who wear the typical German costume will be able, on the first day of the event, to participate in the contest that will choose the Queen and King of the Oktoberfest Rio 2022.

The winning couple will win a passport for ten people to enjoy all festival days.

Other contests and distribution of prizes and gifts are scheduled for the other days of the festival. Tickets are already on sale at the Ingresso Certo website.

This third edition of Oktoberfest Rio is a realization of Peck Productions, sponsored by Brahma, Guanabara Diesel, the City Hall of Rio de Janeiro, the Municipal Culture Secretariat, and the Municipal Law for Cultural Incentive.
