IBGE: Number of cities in Brazil affected by fires up 43% between 2017 and 2020

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Among other indicators, the survey presents the impact of environmental devastation in the country.

In the main data on this topic, IBGE points out that "about 66.2% of municipalities reported the occurrence of some environmental impact in the past 24 months."

The data also show that the highest percentages of municipalities that suffered the occurrence of these impacts are found in the North (78.5%) and Midwest (69.2%).
