RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A new scam is spreading across the country and harming many, particularly at this time of year-end when people are more willing to buy.
Criminals are hacking into social network Instagram accounts, posing as the user, and offering cell phones and appliances at low prices to followers.
Many are interested in the offers, trusting that it is coming from a friend, and therefore make payments through PIX to accounts referred by the criminals. In addition to fake sales, the criminals also use the victim's profile to hack into new accounts . . .
