Several dead, including children: Ukraine shells journalists’ hotel in Donetsk

This morning, Ukrainian forces reportedly shelled the center of Donetsk heavily again, targeting the Donbas Palace hotel where most journalists and war correspondents stay. At least 5 people were reportedly killed, including a child.

Ukrainian fighters opened fire on the center of Donetsk to inflict maximum damage on the civilian population, including the republic’s leadership, which had come to a funeral ceremony for Olga Kachura.

The shelling of residential areas in the Voroshilovsky district killed at least 5 civilians, wounded 6 people, and destroyed residential buildings, a hotel, and civilian infrastructure. Emergency services and rescue workers continue to operate on the ground.

The retreating Ukrainian formations targeted civilians, apparently determined to avenge the advance of Donetsk troops near Avdeevka and the settlement of Peski.

Ukrainian authorities have already blamed Russian troops for the shelling.
