Uber Eats Introduces Group Order Function

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Ordering food for an evening meal with friends or a meeting at work has become easier at Uber Eats: the service now features an option that allows ordering for groups, while each person may choose which dish to have.

Until now, orders for multiple people had to be placed by a single user, who then would list the dishes for each person in the group in a single order.

The new option simplifies this. Accessing a restaurant in Uber Eats and choosing the “Group order” option is all it takes. Next, the order link is shared (via WhatsApp, for instance) with the rest of the group.

Once everyone has chosen their dish – the list will be updated with their options – the person who started the order will have to finalize and pay for it. For now, it is not possible for each person to pay their share on the App.

Group orders are already working in the United States. In Brazil, the resource has not yet been officially launched. Uber Eats has not announced an official release date for the feature here.

However, we can expect news soon, after all, the group order page already shows up in Portuguese.
