Peru hopes to become world-class supplier of cocoa and fine chocolates by 2030

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Victor Maita, urged the sector's institutions and organizations to work closely to strengthen the positioning and internationalization of cocoa to benefit cocoa producers in family agriculture, within the framework of the proposed National Cocoa and Chocolate Plan.

During the inauguration of the virtual forum on "Cocoa: Closing Gaps, Sustainability and Internationalization", the minister pointed out that "cocoa cultivation involves more than 100,000 families, 95% of which are producers from family farming."
