Study: Blacks account for 80% of violent youth deaths in Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A study by the "Sou da Paz" Institute shows that between 2012 and 2019, the homicide mortality rate for young blacks was 6.5 times higher than the national rate.

In addition, a study by the Brazilian Public Safety Forum and UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) shows that of the nearly 35,000 youth deaths between 2016 and 2020 in Brazil, 80% were black.
