Nicknamed C4IR (Center for the 4th Industrial Revolution) Brasil, the center will begin operations in the first half of this year. The body is a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Economy, the government of the State of São Paulo and companies with global operations.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the new center will aim to encourage the use of new technologies and improve Brazil’s inclusion in global value chains (where industries in one country produce or assemble components for manufacturing in other countries), increasing the competitiveness and productivity of Brazilian companies.

Among the technologies of the 4.0 industry, the center intends to foster the adoption of the Internet of things (where objects communicate through the Internet) and the use of artificial intelligence in industry. The center will seek to lift the main economic and social challenges for the expansion of these tools, offering solutions.
