Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Karaokê Indie is on again tonight at Casa da Matriz in Botafogo. To end the summer season the event will host a very special BBQ complete with meat skewers, garlic bread, and sausages. There will also be double dose caipirinhas all night long.
Casa da Matriz is one of Rio’s most popular and oldest nightlife venues. Founded in 1996, when Leo Feijoo, then a student of fine arts, decided to create a cultural space from the house that his family was selling. After an agreement was made with his grandfather, Feijoo opened Casa da Matriz as Rio’s first alternative venue. In the beginning, most of the nights featured only rock, but has since grown to include all forms of music, such as pop, electronic, hip hop and of course, karaokê.

Wednesday night hip-hop continues upstairs at the ever famous Fosfobox club in Copacabana with DJ Haron Dufau. While DJs Dymytryus and Ricardo Martins will spin house downstairs. Specials include two for one beer all night long and unlimited caipifrutas.
