Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired up with native Portuguese speaker at tables. The pairs will then speak English for 5 minutes followed by Portuguese for 5 minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner.
It’s R$10 to participate and the cost includes free food. Happy Hour at the Lapa Irish Pub also lasts until 8PM with two for one Ashby Chopp and Vinho Chopp.
The language exchange is open to all levels of speakers. It’s a fun, educational event and a great opportunity to mix and mingle with native speakers of both English and Portuguese.
