Trump Hosts First White House Crypto Summit with Industry Leaders

Organized by David Sacks, the administration’s AI and Crypto Czar, the event will bring together over 25 top executives from the cryptocurrency industry alongside key government officials.

The summit aims to address regulatory challenges and explore opportunities to position the U.S. as a global leader in blockchain innovation. Confirmed attendees include Brian Armstrong (Coinbase), Brad Garlinghouse (Ripple), Michael Saylor (MicroStrategy), and Sergey Nazarov (Chainlink).

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick are also expected to join. The event will focus on critical topics such as regulatory clarity, tax compliance, and the potential creation of a U.S. Strategic Crypto Reserve.

This reserve could include major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, and XRP. It aims to enhance economic resilience and strengthen the U.S.’s position in global digital finance.

The summit highlights Trump’s proactive stance on cryptocurrency since taking office in January 2025. Early promises to establish a permanent Crypto Council were abandoned due to internal industry conflicts and competing priorities.

Instead, periodic summits like this one have been introduced to engage stakeholders more flexibly. The event comes at a time of growing tension within the crypto sector over issues like stablecoin regulations and whether altcoins should be included in federal reserves.

Trump’s administration has already banned Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), citing concerns over centralized control.
